Ken Moore has resided in the Hughson area since 1951 and graduated from Hughson High School in 1964.  Ken served on the Hughson High School Board for eight years and on the Ag Boosters Committee for a number of years.  Ken was appointed to the City Council in 2003, elected in 2004, serving in the capacity of Mayor Pro Tem during such time, and was elected as Mayor in 2006.

Ken spent 24 years with the Stanislaus County Fire Department and retired in 1995 as a Deputy Fire Warden in charge of the Fire Investigation Division.  During this time, Ken served as a Volunteer on the Hughson Fire Department for 21 years and retired as Deputy Chief.  Ken also served on the California Conference of Arson Investigation Board for 15 years, holding all positions, including that of President, as well as serving on the International Association of Arson Investigation Board for 6 years.
