Location
Hughson is located in Stanislaus County, approximately 10 miles southeast of Modesto, 90 miles south of Sacramento and 100 miles southeast of San Francisco. California State University, Stanislaus
CSU Stanislaus serves Hughson and the greater Stanislaus County providing excellent educational opportunities as well as cultural and sporting activities. Most importantly the University produces an educated workforce for local businesses to select from.
 
 
Modesto Junior College
Modesto Junior College has been serving motivated students of Hughson and California's Central valley since 1921. As one of the leading community colleges in the state, Modesto Junior College offers a host of programs and courses in academic and vocational areas to prepare students for transfer to a four-year university or to enter the job market. Rail way access 
The Santa Fe Railway runs through the heart of Hughson. Trains currently service several of Hughson’s Industrial businesses including Dairy Farmers of America and a nearby feed Mill. Not only does this railway allow access to freight trains, but it is also the route for Amtrak passenger service.
