Qualifications: Possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or a related field, and one year of progressively responsible administrative, analytical and technical experience. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver’s license. This is a mid-management level class in which the incumbent is expected to independently perform the full scope of administrative, analytical and management support duties. The current vacancy is assigned to the Public Works Department and may serve as the Deputy City Clerk. FSLA status – exempt.

SENIOR WATER DISTRIBUTION OPERATOR POSITION

Salary Range: Currently $3,101 - $3,769/mo.

As of: 07/01/07 $ 3,195- $3,883/mo. (Salary scheduled for further review)

The Senior Water Distribution Operator provides lead direction to crews engaged in repair, construction and maintenance of Municipal water infrastructure. Performs skilled work related to the installation and repair of water system services and other related duties as required. This position will provide a full range of duties related to the City’s Water Distribution System.

Qualifications

A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications would be: to have a High School diploma or equivalent, supplemented by related college level course work, and three years of construction and maintenance experience in one or more skilled trades. Position requires a valid class C CDL with the ability to obtain a class B CDL with applicable certificates within four months of employment, and a Grade D2 Water Distribution Operator Certificate from the Dept. of Health Services at time of appointment. Possession of a Backflow Tester Certificate issued by the AWWA is highly desirable.
